Meiji Rich Matcha
A description of Meiji Matcha requires a lengthy introduction. In the not-so-far reaches of the school I go to, we have what we fondly call the “Meron Lagoon”. No one actually knows what it is, its origin or purpose. Speculations include it being a repository for waste from the chem lab, and one that is grounded in a concept in Philosophy (which I can’t explain because I took up Philosophy taught in English, not Filipino). Regardless, the Meron Lagoon is pretty funky. How funky?
This funky.
It bubbles and toils and causes all kinds of trouble. That’s a picture of the jelly-like glaze it had one pleasant afternoon.
This would launch a hundred glasses of Green Tea Frap
And Meiji Matcha tastes just like that. Matcha is the grand daddy of all green teas, so each bite of this packs a punch. It’s bitter and leaf-y all at the same time. Definitely not the taste you’re expecting when you’re in a “I love Meiji Dark Chocolate” disposition. But since I love funky things, and Meiji Rich Matcha is funky, I like this by virtue of transitivity. I just don’t know when I’ll be able to finish the entire bar.
